Christie Casher was a teacher, an activist, a performer, and a talker. But above all, she was a poet. Christie saw the world in a beautiful and unique way that was best described in verse, and she loved to share her perspective with anyone who would listen. And we listened.
Christie was taken from us too soon, at the age of only 30 years old. She had only begun to share her talent and enthusiasm with the world.
To fulfill a request to Christie’s father, a group of Christie’s friends have set up a scholarship in her memory. The scholarship will support a young poet, graduating from Long Beach High School.
